UFC President Dana White joins Shannon Sharpe at Club Shay Shay for a comprehensive and entertaining conversation that spans the history and future of mixed martial arts, personal anecdotes, and behind-the-scenes stories.
Shannon kicks things off by reminiscing about his experience attending UFC 1. Dana then dives into his recent participation in "The Roast of Tom Brady," sharing what it was like to perform in front of 12,000 people, his unique relationship with Tom Brady, and the process of crafting his jokes, including calling comedian Bill Burr for advice. Dana gives credit to Drew Bledsoe and Shannon takes a light-hearted jab at Kim Kardashian, to which Dana offers his own praise. He concludes with high praise for Tom Brady, calling him a savage.
Dana then dives into his upbringing with a single mom who worked as a nurse, growing up in a lower-middle-class environment, and moving from Boston in the fifth grade with a thick accent. He shares his lifelong love for fighting, dropping out of college after less than a semester, and the reasons why college didn't suit him. Dana recounts being run out of Boston due to FBI investigations involving Whitey Bulger, fleeing to Las Vegas, and how that move turned out to be fortuitous.
The conversation also covers the UFC's groundbreaking move to Spike TV, financing the first season independently, and the emphasis on live event experiences over TV broadcasts. Dana explains how he convinced Joe Rogan to become a commentator after seeing him on the Keenen Ivory Wayans show and an interview where Joe expressed his passion for fighting.
Dana discusses the situation with Francis Ngannou, stating he has no regrets about how things played out. He affirms that the UFC did everything possible to make the Jon Jones vs Ngannou fight happen, emphasizing that Jones isn't afraid of Ngannou and is the baddest fighter of all time. Dana believes Jones would defeat Ngannou just as he did Ciryl Gane and elaborates on Jones's status as the baddest human in fighting sports history, a potential fight with Stipe Miocic, and what makes Jones so formidable—a true "killer" with a dark side.
On the financial side, Dana addresses the ongoing debate about fighter pay, asserting that fighters are earning more and that many quotes on the subject come from reporters who lack understanding of the business. He also reflects on the Conor McGregor vs. Floyd Mayweather bout, highlighting issues within boxing’s economics. Discussing potential matchups like Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul, Dana insists Tyson, at 58, shouldn't be fighting.
He recounts getting The Rock into social media and shares the success of Power Slap, an endeavor that gained massive followers quickly. Dana envisions celebrities participating and even invites Shannon to join.
In a fun segment, Dana speculates on which athletes from various sports would make great UFC fighters, naming Tom Brady, Michael Jordan, Shaq, and others. Dana's love for gambling comes to the fore as he talks about his nightly blackjack sessions, his venture into baccarat, and his strategy of betting as much as possible, even impacting a casino's quarterly report.
Join Shannon Sharpe and Dana White for a riveting episode filled with honesty, insider stories, and the unfiltered insights of one of the most influential figures in sports today. Whether you're a die-hard UFC fan or simply enjoy candid conversations, this episode of Club Shay Shay is essential listening.

In the latest episode of Club Shay Shay, Shannon Sharpe welcomes the hilarious Karlous Miller, a standout comedian of his generation. Known for his incredible improvisational skills, Karlous has taken the comedy scene by storm, performing to sold-out crowds across the nation and internationally. As a co-host and creator of the hit podcast and improv show 85 South, which debuted at number one on Netflix, he brings a unique blend of humor and insight to the conversation.
Join Shannon and Karlous as they dive into his roots in Oxford, Mississippi, where he grew up in a lively family of eight siblings. Karlous reflects on the joys and challenges of being the eldest sibling, sharing how his upbringing shaped his comedic voice. The duo shares laughs as Karlous recounts his early days in the entertainment industry, from his brief stint as a firefighter to his journey through various jobs that helped him hone his craft. Karlous opens up about his swift transition to comedy just weeks after moving to Atlanta, performing at the iconic Twisted Taco and quickly immersing himself in the city’s nightlife. His stories are filled with warmth and laughter, touching on everything from the adrenaline rush of performing live to delivering pizza to football legends like Eli Manning.
Karlous shares his journey from growing up watching iconic comedy shows like Def Comedy Jam and Comic View to becoming a recognized figure in the comedy scene. He discusses the influence of Jamie Foxx and how comedians can leverage television opportunities to showcase their versatility and connect with audiences on a deeper level, emphasizing the importance of showing various layers beyond just comedy. Karlous also reflects on his experiences working with prominent figures in the industry, including Mo'Nique and Keenen Ivory Wayans, highlighting the balance of respect and assertiveness that defines successful collaborations. He candidly shares insights into his path on Last Comic Standing, revealing that, despite its competitive nature, he found value in simply being part of the experience rather than focusing solely on the prize.
Karlous talks about his experiences navigating Hollywood, discussing both the highs and lows. He recounts on his time on MTV's Yo Mama with Wilmer Valderrama, his appearances on Hell Date, and being hired from Wild 'N Out. He also opens up about his friendship with D.C. Young Fly, his decision to go independent, using Steve Harvey’s studio, and embracing ownership within the comedy business. He also recalls moments smoking with Wiz Khalifa and Snoop Dogg.
The conversation transitions to his experience on set with notable comedians like Katt Williams, Keke Palmer, Sinbad, Deon Cole, and Earthquake —reminiscing on his "two minutes of fame" on Two Minutes of Fame, he explains that although his role was small, it was a significant step in expanding his career, and he embraced the opportunity fully. He also touches on his respect for Katt Williams, who has recognized and supported him as an emerging comedian.
The conversation shifts to the beef between rappers Drake and Kendrick Lamar. Karlous dives into why some might find Drake "too easy to hate," attributing it to his effortless appeal and success, contrasting it with Kendrick's upbringing in Compton and his grounded authenticity. He also talks about Kanye West, expressing nostalgia for Kanye's earlier work. He explains how Kanye’s artistic shift affected him as a fan, preferring Kanye’s older, more soulful and conscious music.
As Karlous and Shannon share laughs, they also explore the importance of staying true to oneself in an ever-evolving industry. Karlous offers wisdom on the art of performance, the value of a strong support system, and the joy in each step of his journey. Tune in to Club Shay Shay for this unforgettable conversation, filled with humor, grit, and plenty of heart.

Anderson .Paak joins Club Shay Shay for a wide-ranging conversation about turning 40, fatherhood, music, creativity, and building a legacy across entertainment. The 9-time Grammy Award-winning artist opens up about balancing fame, family, and artistry while preparing for his upcoming K-Pop film and The Romantic Tour with Bruno Mars.
Anderson .Paak reflects on quitting smoking after making a deal with his mother, prioritizing his health, and wanting to be more present for his children as he gets older. He shares how the pandemic changed his perspective on life after years of nonstop touring and allowed him to reconnect with his son, who introduced him to YouTube culture, K-pop, and creators like MrBeast.
The conversation dives deep into music, artistry, and ownership as Anderson explains why he got a tattoo requesting that no posthumous albums be released after his death. He reflects on how artists like Prince protected their music and legacy by maintaining creative control and refusing to simply follow industry trends. Anderson also discusses the posthumous releases of Mac Miller, Pop Smoke, and Juice WRLD, explaining how difficult it can be when unfinished music is released without the artist’s direct vision, sequencing, or creative input. He praises the care taken by Mac Miller’s family and references how Pop Smoke’s music continued through collaborations with 50 Cent. Anderson also credits legendary producers and mentors like Dr. Dre for influencing the level of detail, perfectionism, and musical craftsmanship required to build a lasting catalog.
They discuss how artists make money in today’s music business through touring, writing, producing, and live performance. Anderson credits his Tiny Desk performance for elevating his career and explains how learning multiple skills helped him create opportunities beyond streaming revenue. He also breaks down the creation of Silk Sonic with Bruno Mars, their Las Vegas residency, and how DJing unexpectedly became another successful chapter of his career after meeting Vegas DJ Eddie McDonald. Anderson talks about performing at events like Coachella and the Met Gala.
Anderson shares lessons he’s learned about entrepreneurship, trusting the right team, and staying creative without chasing money. He reflects on his career, grinding through small venues and eventually reaching sold-out arenas with Bruno Mars. He also names artists he still hopes to collaborate with.
Also touches on gambling, the Los Angeles Dodgers, Formula 1, Las Vegas culture, and Anderson’s experience balancing multiple creative ventures, including Silk Sonic, No Worries, and DJ Pee .Wee, filmmaking, and directing his first feature film. Anderson explains how working with artists like Drake, J. Cole, Ari Lennox, JID, and the Dreamville collective shaped his journey, while also reflecting on the realities of fame, loyalty, business partnerships, and maintaining long-term relationships in the music industry.

Comedian and actor Matt Rife joins Shannon Sharpe on Club Shay Shay for a wide-ranging conversation about his rise from a young club comic to one of the biggest stand-up stars in the world. Now one of the highest-earning comedians working today, Rife reflects on selling out arenas across the globe, joining Taylor Swift as one of the only live acts to break Ticketmaster’s website due to overwhelming ticket demand, becoming the youngest comedian to sell out two shows at Madison Square Garden and the youngest stand-up to sell out the Hollywood Bowl, and building a massive audience through viral social media moments.
Rife opens up about growing up in Ohio and the childhood influences that shaped him, including being raised by his mother and grandfather after losing his father at a young age. He shares how his grandfather supported his dream early on—literally paying to watch him perform—and how that encouragement helped push him toward the stage. The conversation also touches on his early love of sports and the competitive mindset he developed growing up.
Starting stand-up as a teenager, Rife discusses studying comedians like Dave Chappelle, while learning how to write jokes, survive bombing on stage, and develop his own comedic voice. He talks about early comparisons to Justin Bieber, the mentors who helped him early in his career—including D.L. Hughley and Mike Epps—and how performing in Atlanta helped sharpen his skills before moving to Los Angeles after passing a California proficiency exam.
Rife reflects on becoming the youngest cast member in the history of Wild ’N Out with Nick Cannon, competing alongside comedians like DC Young Fly, Karlous Miller, and Chico Bean, and what he learned about television, exposure, and building a brand. He also addresses some of the public conversations and online speculation about his appearance that surfaced as his fame grew.
The discussion also touches on how viral moments online helped expand his audience, including clips of his crowd work that spread widely across social media. He breaks down the business side of comedy, touring worldwide, releasing specials independently, and navigating the changing landscape of entertainment platforms.
The conversation closes with reflections on the realities of fame, stories from memorable moments on stage, and what he’s hoping to accomplish in the next chapter of his career. Rife also previews upcoming projects, including his film Rolling Loud with Owen Wilson and the Netflix limited series The Altruist with Julia Garner, along with new tour dates across the U.S. and Europe.

Rife also previews upcoming projects, including his film Rolling Loud with Owen Wilson and the Netflix limited series The Altruist with Julia Garner, along with new tour dates across the U.S. and Europe.

John Elway, one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time, joins Shannon Sharpe on Club Shay Shay for an unforgettable conversation about football royalty, comeback greatness, and life after the NFL. Elway opens by reflecting on being the most feared and gifted QB of his era, the only player to throw for 3,000 yards and rush for 200 yards in seven straight seasons, retiring as the NFL’s winningest quarterback with 148 wins and a league-record 47 fourth-quarter game-winning drives.
The Hall of Famer walks through his legendary résumé — NFL MVP, AFC Offensive Player of the Year, five Super Bowl starts, back-to-back championships, Super Bowl XXXIII MVP, and becoming the first person to ever win a Super Bowl as both a player and general manager. He shares why Denver made him “The Duke of Denver” and “King of the Comeback.”
Elway and Shannon reminisce about the origins of Club Shay Shay at Broncos training camp, their card-playing days, favorite memories as teammates, and the infamous Seattle touchdown. Elway explains why Shannon was always his second-favorite receiver — right after the open one and how patience helped Sharpe grow into a Hall of Famer.
The episode dives into Elway’s toughest Super Bowl losses to the Giants, Redskins, and 49ers, how he handled depression, death threats, and the pressure that followed. He details the devastating Jacksonville playoff loss that led to the famous “It ain’t in the game plan, go get open” moment — and how those failures fueled Denver’s underdog victory over the Packers in Super Bowl XXXII.
Elway recounts winning back-to-back Super Bowls, retiring at 36 as a champion and MVP, and why he walked away instead of chasing a three-peat. He compares eras, explains how many seasons he could play today, and revisits his “welcome to the NFL” moments, worst injuries, and legendary arm strength.
The conversation shifts to Terry Bradshaw’s criticism, and the full-circle moment of Bradshaw handing him the Lombardi Trophy. Elway opens up about being drafted by the Yankees, choosing football, and his Mount Rushmore of NFL players who also played baseball.
Finally, Elway reflects on his years as Broncos GM — drafting Von Miller, recruiting Peyton Manning, building the 2015 championship defense — along with regrets like passing on Josh Allen, thoughts on today’s young quarterbacks, the “Elway Rule,” money advice, investing, business ventures with Michael Jordan and Wayne Gretzky, and the lessons of sacrifice that shaped his life.

Jimmy O. Yang sits down for a hilarious and insightful conversation that traces his journey from Hong Kong to Hollywood success. He opens with his unfiltered take on travel, food, and why Hong Kong deserves more global attention, highlighting its world-class cuisine, fusion culture, and international appeal.
Jimmy reflects on his breakout role in Crazy Rich Asians, sharing how persistence, a single audition, and support from his team helped him land the scene-stealing role of Bernard Tai. He reveals behind-the-scenes moments, from improvising key scenes to influencing wardrobe choices that made his character unforgettable. He also recalls working alongside cast members like Awkwafina, Gemma Chan, Henry Golding, Constance Wu, Nico Santos, Ronny Chieng, and Chris Pang, describing the experience as creatively and culturally transformative.
The conversation dives into his comedy roots, including how improvisation—something even legends like Robert De Niro embrace—shaped his acting style. Jimmy explains that playing over-the-top characters comes from letting go of control and trusting the moment.
He shares personal stories about growing up in Hong Kong, cultural traditions like red envelopes during Chinese New Year, and how early exposure to money management shaped his financial mindset. Jimmy contrasts Eastern and Western attitudes toward money, success, and lifestyle with humor and honesty.
From there, he opens up about his early struggles in America—learning English by watching BET’s Comic View and Rap City, navigating cultural differences, and finding his place in a diverse environment. He reflects on identity, assimilation, and the challenges of being seen as “foreign,” even within his own community.
Jimmy also recounts his unconventional path to comedy, including working as a strip club DJ, selling used cars, and grinding through open mics in Los Angeles before landing roles on Silicon Valley. Along the way, he draws inspiration from comedians like Dave Chappelle and George Lopez, while also acknowledging Asian pioneers such as Bobby Lee, Ken Jeong, Margaret Cho, and Yao Ming, who helped pave the way.
The episode also explores representation in media, stereotypes, and authenticity, referencing conversations around actors like Peter Dinklage. Jimmy explains why he embraces his background—including accents—while pushing for more nuanced portrayals of Asian characters in Hollywood.
Throughout the conversation, Jimmy blends sharp humor with real-life experiences, offering a candid look at the grind behind success, the immigrant experience, and the evolving landscape of comedy and entertainment.

Tony Yayo joins Shannon Sharpe at Club Shay Shay for a raw, unfiltered conversation about his life, his career in hip hop, and the brotherhood behind G-Unit. Yayo starts by comparing life in Europe to America, saying liquor tastes better, food is healthier, and there aren’t guns everywhere like in the U.S. Fresh off tour in Europe with Chris Brown in Manchester, he talks about how Washington D.C. feels dangerous today with residents scared to drive their own cars. Yayo reflects on growing up in the Southside of Jamaica, Queens, calling it the best borough in New York over Brooklyn and the Bronx. He shares that his parents are from Haiti, and explains how he got the name “Tony Yayo” from Scarface.
He dives into his upbringing, recalling his strict parents, and saying their divorce led him toward the streets and drug dealing. He remembers being robbed at gunpoint for a Starter jacket, his mom’s house being shot 22 times, and even had $100K thrown away by his mother.
Yayo reflects on hip hop beefs, loyalty, and survival. He says he’ll never be mad at DJ Khaled for siding with Fat Joe during the feud with 50 Cent. He remembers riding in a bulletproof truck riddled with bullets, the murders of PnB Rock and Pop Smoke, and why he prefers hanging with his lawyer over rappers. He recalls being harassed by hip hop police when G-Unit was labeled “the most dangerous rap group in the world.” He praises Eminem as his “favorite white boy in the world,” calls Dr. Dre one of the best producers, and says Eminem listens to details like “the footsteps in Poltergeist.” He talks about how Eminem’s cosign made Joe Budden’s career, how Kanye West was around before fame, and how 50 Cent would turn down million-dollar deals.
Yayo opens up about being starstruck partying with Mike Tyson, Venus and Serena Williams, Wesley Snipes, Samuel L. Jackson, the Kardashians, and even the owner of Ray-Ban. He recalls Mike Tyson telling him to expand his horizons, leading him to caviar. He talks about performing with Cash Money, almost signing J. Cole and Nicki Minaj to G-Unit, and Atlanta artists like Outkast, Jermaine Dupri, and Lil Jon. He says Biggie was a better songwriter than Ice Cube, praises Rakim, Big Daddy Kane, Ghostface, Slick Rick, KRS-One, LL Cool J, and Heavy D, and discusses Nipsey Hussle’s death in his own neighborhood.
He reflects on modern rap and street culture — drill music glorifying murder, rappers like King Von, BloodHound Lil Jeff, and Q50 rapping about their crimes, and why kids today flaunt guns with switches on Instagram. He talks about Tekashi 6ix9ine snitching, Fat Joe enjoying Gunna’s music despite controversy, and whether Young Thug and Gunna might reconcile. He weighs in on Drake vs. Kendrick Lamar beef reminding him of Nas vs. Jay-Z and Tupac vs. Biggie, and why Beyoncé and Taylor Swift are the only artists making real money in streaming today.
From doing time in Rikers Island with Diddy’s bodyguard to meeting Donald Trump after jail, from charity work with the Knicks to investing in real estate, Yayo tells it all. He talks about loyalty, losing friends, being stabbed, doing Hot Ones as its first guest, and being starstruck by Nas, Beyoncé, Nicki Minaj, and John Cena. Through it all, he credits 50 Cent, Jay-Z, and Eminem for inspiring him to handle his money wisely — while never forgetting the streets that raised him in Queens.

NFL legend Sterling Sharpe joins Club Shay Shay for a powerful and emotional conversation with his brother, Shannon Sharpe — marking a historic moment between the first brothers to both be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Sterling opens up about their humble beginnings in Georgia, including growing up without running water, learning discipline from their grandfather, and how their grandma’s love and strength helped hold the family together. He reflects on the lessons their grandfather taught them — even though he never once said “I love you” — and why his passing was the most freeing day of Sterling’s life. At just $6 an hour, Sterling worked in the fields, often giving his paycheck to his grandma to help keep the lights and heat on.
In the second half of Sterling Sharpe's sit-down, the brothers reminisce about their early jobs, and how trying different things helped them figure out what they didn’t want to do. Shannon even learned to drive at 5 years old. Sterling shares how those experiences shaped his mindset as he chased his football dreams.
Though he dreamed of playing for Clemson, Sterling chose South Carolina (USC) for deeper connections — a school that would later retire his number, which he nearly unretired once for Duce Staley. He recounts being drafted in the first round, alongside Anthony Miller, Aaron Cox, and Anthony Jones, and thinking he was headed to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before being drafted by the Green Bay Packers.
Sterling reflects on life in the NFL, including not knowing what the receiving “Triple Crown” was until Cooper Kupp achieved it. He shares how Jon Gruden once compared him to Michael Jordan, how fast Deion Sanders truly was, and how different the game looks now. Coaches and peers like Andy Reid believed that if Sterling hadn’t gotten hurt, he would’ve gone down as the greatest wide receiver ever.
Sterling also shares memories of playing alongside Terry Crews, his devastating injury, and how even Jerry Jones once asked him to make a comeback. Today, if given the chance, he says he’d love to play with Joe Burrow or Lamar Jackson. The episode ends with a reflection on his eye surgeries, life after football, and the journey that led him to his Hall of Fame moment.
This isn’t just a football story — it’s a story about family, sacrifice, legacy, and resilience. Don’t miss this rare, heartfelt sit-down between two legendary brothers.
